“Women sexually assualted in series of B&E’s”

I’m so tired of headlines like this. Headlines that seem to be the norm in Toronto these days. 

I’m so tired of sleeping in fear because I’m a woman. I’m tired of the shortness of breath and the paralysis that comes with each strange sound heard at night.

I’m fucking tired of being worried about walking home in the dark because I’m a woman. Of worrying about going to the corner store after midnight because I’m a woman.

I’m tired. And I don’t want to ‘take back the night’, I want to take back the fucking world because none of us should have to live in fear, for any reason.

Something needs to be done, don’t call it vigilantism  - call it community.
